Education & Training

Dr. DeSole is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College.  Before becoming a licensed psychologist, she worked as a management consultant for Accenture.   Subsequently, she earned both her masters and doctoral degrees in Psychology from Columbia University. 

She completed her postdoctoral training at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology in the EDCAS program for addiction, compulsive behavior and eating disorders.  She participated in professional trainings in mindfulness-based stress reduction under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn.  She trained in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for the treatment of depression under the guidance Dr. John Teasdale and Dr. Zindel Segal. 

In addition to her private practice, Dr. DeSole has worked as an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University’s Department of Counseling & Clinical Psychology and Hunter College’s Department of Educational Foundations & Counseling Program.  She also served as a psychologist for eight years at the Eating Disorder Resource Center in New York City, where she was involved in therapeutic programs concerning anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and other body image disorders.

Dr. DeSole also served as part of the Board of Directors for the Community Meditation Center.
